Leave one side of your headphone off of one ear when recording, so that you can clearly hear your self

Leave one side of your headphone off of one ear when recording, so that you can clearly hear your self. Not doing so can cause you to be off in pitch. Sometimes the instrumental volume is high, and the headphones cancel outside noise causing you to inaccurately judge your vocal tone and pitch ,you need to hear it in order to do so. Although if set in the recording program, so that you can hear the vocals while you record in real time, its still best to use an exposed ear for best accuracy.
